Lactation
The Birth Center of Midland prides it's self if being a comprehensive, supportive space for motherhood. Breastfeeding is an important part of early motherhood and needs unique support, outside of what physicians and pediatricians can offer. The Birth Center has three Certified Lactation Consultants on staff to support your breastfeeding journey. We can help with mechanics, latch, pain while breastfeeding, pumping, weaning and more. We offer appointments every weekday so you can get immediate support when needed.
Lactation Support
Postpartum lactation appointments are 45-60 minute private appointments with a Certified Lactation Consultant. We can help with all breastfeeding issues, bottle feeding, as well as setting up pumping schedules and back-to-work plans.
Breastfeeding Class
Our Certified Lactation Consultants offer a monthly Introduction to Breastfeeding class. Breastfeeding can be difficult, but this class will set you up for success. Offered monthly, on a weeknight at 7pm. Your partner is welcome to attend with you. This Motherhood Class, a part of a series of topics for new moms, is free for our clients with the code FREE CLIENT. For others in the community, the cost is $100.
Lactation Package
A comprehensive lactation package can be purchased in your third trimester. This package is meant to give easy access to our lactation team so you can be confident about where to turn when issues arise. For $550, you receive:​

One 90 minute in-home visit within 72 hours of birth. Personalized feeding plan with continued adjustments.

Personalized feeding plan with continued adjustments and weighted feed assessments at each visit.

Two weeks, immediately postpartum, of email and text messaging support during business hours with our Certified Lactation Consultants.

Resource Bundle, including Ina May’s Guide to Breastfeeding and other educational materials.
​
Access to same-day and next-day appointments.
​
A prenatal breastfeeding class and one 30 minute prenatal breastfeeding appointment.
​
Two 60-minute visits at The Birth Center, within six months of baby’s arrival, one of which can be a return-to-work consultation with pumping plan and bottle support. Weighted feed assessments at each visit.

50% discounts on additional visits for up to 12 months.
