Gabbriella's Story

In 2022, I gave birth to my daughter in the hospital with big dreams of a natural birth. I labored at home for over 20 hours but was not progressing. Because my water had been broken at the start of labor, I was encouraged to go to the hospital and begin pitocin, which led to an epidural. After 30 hours of labor my daughter was finally born. Since her birth, I knew I wanted a different story for my next baby.

As soon as I became pregnant with my second baby I scheduled a tour and my first appointment at The Birth Center. At 39 weeks and 3 days, labor began early in the morning. I labored at home with my husband and our two-year-old throughout the day. Contractions started to progress and getting close together so my husband called the midwife and we headed in. We arrived at The Birth Center around 4 pm and I was able to relax in the tub for an hour or so.

Courtney arrived and we worked hard to get my baby to work his way down. I remember intense pressure and my body pushing after doing some lunges in the hallway. In that moment I felt overwhelmed and doubted my ability. With encouragement I then went to the bed and after 3 pushes my beautiful baby boy was born at 8:15 pm. I had the most transformative birth experience and am so grateful for The Birth Center.
