We had a really heartbreaking birth experience with our second child in Poland. We desired a natural brith, but instead ended up with a cesarean section in a foreign country where we could barely communicate with hospital staff. I grieved a lot about it. When we found out I was pregnant with Myles, we were determined to have a redemptive birth with a provider that truly cared about our wants.
In October, we came to visit the U.S. and met with Courtney Luoma at The Birth Center and knew we found someone who was an advocate for what we truly desired--a natural, unmedicated VBAC (14 months post c-section). She eased my fears from my previous birth, and helped us through the unexpected situation of me being stuck in the US until the birth of our baby. She ALWAYS advocated for us, even through some tough news and situations.
I cannot say enough positive things about The Birth Center or about the midwives and staff who work there. I have never been more calm about a change in our birth plan late in pregnancy. Our birth team was phenomenal, and I couldn't imagine a more perfect scenario.
